bassist/composer/educator
I live and work in the NYC area. I've been active on the international jazz scene for almost 30 years. My music contains influences from modern jazz, latin jazz, free jazz, and modern classical music. My bass playing is influenced by the work of the modern masters of the jazz and classical worlds.
SANTI DEBRIANO'S MICROFUNDO PROJECT My purpose for being involved in Microfundo is that I must raise between 7 and $10,000 to properly record my music with my band who I’ve been performing with for 3 years now. The money will go to rent the studio for two days, and pay the engineer and bandmembers a base salary. I want to record at Bennett Studios in Englewood, NJ, a state of the art facility whose engineers I’ve worked with on many projects over the years. Bennett has offered me a great deal on the price per hour for their facility, engineer included. The musicians I’d like to participate on the project are all well known masters of jazz and latin jazz. They are guitarist Roni Ben Hur, saxophonist Abraham Burton, pianist Helio Alves, drummer Thierry Arpino, percussionist Renato Thoms. I’d love to have Columbian harpist Edmar Castaneda perform as a special guest on a few songs. All the music is prepared and we’ve performed it all before. I’ll have samples of our most recent concert up as soon as I figure out how to do so on the Microfundo site! . Microfundo is a dream come true for an artist like myself who has a musical track record, a band and material ready but lacks the funding to produce his material on his own. Your contribution will help me realize my dream, so please consider giving whatever you can to help my project become a reality.

Santi! I'm a big fan, I met you at the Jazzfest in Panama City a couple of years ago. I was a translator for the Danilo Perez Foundation. I'm totally supporting your project.
